Your role
The Visual Effects Artist implements, under supervision, video game special effects in accordance with a project’s artistic direction and production deadlines. He/she has strong artistic skills, and an understanding of the technical constraints on the target platforms.

Visual Art:
o Using a variety of particle systems, create all aspects of special effects artwork:
o Particle system templates and animation
o Particle textures
o Particle models (as necessary)
o Lighting
o Good knowledge of in-game special effects, including:
o Smoke
o Explosions
o Fire
o Weather
o Atmospherics
o Water
o Light/Energy
o Damage
o Full screen filters
o Post processing
视觉艺术:

What you will do
Coming with creative ideas and solutions to the assigned tasks and proactively communicate task status to your peers, customers, and Leads.
Correct defects discovered by QC or your customers in a timely fashion.
Work within the technical limitations of a variety of game engines.
Collaborate with Graphics Technical Artist to ensure necessary technology/features are present in order to reach the visual benchmarks.
Share artistic knowledge with Artists, support them when needed.

What you should be equipped with:
Graduated with a 4-year bachelor’s degree.
A minimum of 5+ years creating real-time special FX for video games.
Experience with crafting consistently brilliant, eye-catching, real-time FX using Photoshop, Max, and in-game FX systems.
Able to paint stylized FX textures from scratch, matching an established style.
Proficient with 3D graphics, particle systems, physics, ribbons, etc.
Working knowledge of rendering engines.
Solid game design awareness and an exceptional game design-oriented collaborator.
Self-driven, and an excellent communicator.
Work with art lead artist and other leaders to support the game vision, provide/receive feedback, and improve by participating in regular team events such as reviews and scrums, with the goal of creating high-quality VFX.

Good understanding of art fundamentals: color theory, lighting, shape, composition, etc.
Must be creative and be able to adapt to a variety of art styles;
Good organizational and analytical skills, and able to solve problems.
Passion for creating and playing games, regardless of platform or genre.
Able to work under pressure and take constructive criticism.
Good communication skills. English ability a plus.
Scripting skills (Max Script, Python, HLSL) a plus.
